The CAD model was our blueprint and most all the design decisions were driven by the 3D model.

Engineering Documentation
Plastic clamping bearing blocks were not rated to handle the high torque applications.
For example, we suffered a hairline crack on two plastic clamping bearing blocks under high torque lifting (50:1 gearbox for chain lift of totes).
We also experienced two failures with the bearing blocks on our normal drivetrain operation. One hairline crack failure on our practice robot & another on our competition robot after the 2015 Bayou regional.
